Vegan Golden Milk Recipe

If you're looking to incorporate the natural health benefits of turmeric into your daily routine, golden milk is a delicious and easy way to do so. But if you're not a fan of the traditional recipe, there are plenty of variations to try. Experiment with different types of milk, sweeteners, and spices until you find the perfect combination for your taste buds.

Our personal favorite is using coconut milk as the base and adding a touch of honey for sweetness. We also like to add a pinch of black pepper to enhance the absorption of turmeric. For a fun twist, try using alternative sweeteners like maple syrup or dates, and add in other beneficial spices like cinnamon and ginger. For even more nutritional benefits, try adding in a tablespoon of coconut oil or ghee. The possibilities are endless and it can be a fun way to get creative in the kitchen while also nourishing your body.

Here's a simple recipe for making golden milk at home:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of vegan milk of your choice (coconut, almond, soy, oat)

  • 1 tsp of turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp of grated ginger

  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup

  • A pinch of black pepper

  • 1 cinnamon stick

Instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat.

  2. Add the turmeric powder, grated ginger, honey, and black pepper to the milk and stir well.

  3. Add the cinnamon stick if you are using it.

  4. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for 5 minutes.

  5. Remove from heat and strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer to remove any bits of ginger or turmeric.

  6. Serve warm and enjoy!

You can also add 1 tsp of coconut oil to the recipe to make it more creamy and rich. You can also add 1 tsp of vanilla extract, 1 tsp of cinnamon powder, 1 tsp of cardamom powder, and 1 tsp of nutmeg powder to make a different variation of it, to suit your taste.

Note: It's important to use black pepper in this recipe, as it helps the body absorb the turmeric. You can also add other spices such as cardamom, nutmeg, or vanilla, to customize the flavor to your taste.

Enjoy your homemade Golden Milk!
