Natural Odor Defense: DIY Nontoxic Deodorant Recipe

Let’s make a Deodorant Cream DIY with herbal infused oil!

I don’t know about you, but I’ve bought my share of natural deodorants over the years, and I can’t say I’ve used anything I would recommend to a friend. So, I got inspired by a few DIY recipes and created this one. It’s super lightweight, soft, and blends right into the skin. It’s more like a cream.

I used this deodorant cream before a warm yoga class, my husband used it before he went to the gym, and my teenage son used it at the start of his school day. There was no body odor from us, at all! This D.O. is working with our body to neutralize smell and keeps us feeling dry, but that’s not all it does.

In the armpit, just under the skin, there are lymph nodes, small bean-sized structures that are part of the body’s immune system. To encourage and maintain a healthy flow of lymph in this area, I added a violet infused oil with rose and comfrey in the recipe. This oil provides excellent lymphatic circulation support while moisturizing, nourishing, softening, and soothing the skin.

What this cream is not is an antiperspirant. Your body can still produce sweat under your arms because it SHOULD. It’s ridding the body of some environmental toxins and maintaining internal balance.

While personal care products play a role in holistic living, it’s essential to recognize that holistic wellness encompasses various aspects, including nutrition, exercise, mental and emotional well-being, and environmental sustainability. Choosing non-toxic personal care products can be a part of a holistic lifestyle, but it is just one component among many.
