As the fall changes to winter and it's time to switch out your wardrobe, consider incorporating natural elements from your garden to freshen up your closet. Dried herb sachets, made with lavender, rosemary, mint, and thyme, not only provide a pleasant aroma but also act as a natural deterrent for moths and other pests that may be attracted to your woolen garments during the winter months. These herbs, commonly found in many gardens, can easily be incorporated into your cleaning routine to add a touch of freshness and protect your clothes.

To make the sachets: snip a handful of the herbs, bundle them together, and wrap with twine. Allow them to dry for a few days by hanging them from a hook or hanger in your closet. Once the leaves and buds feel dry to the touch, remove them from the stems, and add them to a small muslin drawstring bag. Place one bag in each closet, or add them to drawers that hold wool sweaters, socks, jackets, and blankets. With this simple and natural solution, your clothes will be protected and your closets will be filled with lovely fragrance. Enjoy!
